Staci, Baby Otter Southwest Orlando Franchise Owner

I grew up in South Florida and was a near drowning victim at 17 months old. My mom decided what happened to me, will never happen to another child. I started working the company at 18 years old and worked it from the bottom up. I have my masters in business and my masters in Special Education. As a special needs mom, I wanted to make sure every child can learn to swim. As a company, we have incorporated visuals to allow for accommodations and modifications for children who learned differently, and with that, we have had nothing short of success, with the most amazing children on the planet. I decided to take on the journey of a franchise owner, and continue saving lives, and growing the family business. I am who I am today because of my mom and aunt, the two owners of this amazing company. I could not be happier, owning my own Baby Otter Swim School and creating that safety for children and the comfort for parents of having that peace of mind that your children have the education on how to save their own life, if they were to fall into a body of water. Saving lives one child at a time, has become my priority, and has always been, and will continue to be my passion.

Where to even begin!! This school is Otter-ly AMAZING! We’ve been in the pool with my son since he was 2 weeks old. When he was just about 15 months old we tired a handful of other swim schools and our local gym (I won’t mention the names of those) but needless to say the swims schools either canceled our sessions, or kept giving us another teacher – both in which didn’t really help the overall situation of learning a new skill – a new stranger every week just wasn’t working. Not to mention those schools also only had lessons once maybe twice a week vs. baby otter with a full week program at the same time with the same coach! My son got to a point where he didn’t even want to touch the water because the other schools just weren’t consistent. Now Baby Otter – What a wave of fresh air!! Jaxson was swimming in less than a week and ENJOYING it not screaming or crying for the entire lesson! We did two full weeks of lessons – about 3 weeks apart, and Jaxson was so EXCITED to see Coach Cara again! She was so informative, passionate, and caring! She was able to give direction and motivation, she was able to get Jaxson to cooperate in ways I’ve never seen him before. Not only did they teach my son how to save his OWN life in the event of falling into the pool, but they also taught him patience, resilience, and that it’s okay to be frustrated! I am so beyond impressed with this program, and their staff! We have another two weeks of lessons coming up and I can’t wait to see what Coach Cara, and Jaxson can accomplish! He swims like a little fish now and we can’t keep him out of the pool!

Turn, Kick, Reach® (TKR)

A unique five consecutive day program to teach children, as soon as they can crawl, what to do if they fell into the water.

TKR Review

Designed to assist swimmers who have taken the TKR private class, but still need strengthening and improvement on the skills taught.

Beginning Strokes, Level 1

Designed for swimmers who have had some experience in the water. Swimmers learn the log roll, how to float, use their arms and dive for toys.

Beginning Strokes, Level 2

Designed for swimmers who have completed level 1. Swimmers learn the breast stroke and rhythmic breathing for freestyle.

Beginning Strokes, Level 3

Designed for swimmers who have completed level 2. Swimmers learn the side stroke, elementary backstroke, backstroke, treading water and survival technique.

Adult

Private classes designed to teach adults who have never learned to swim and for those adults who want to improve.
