Located just outside of Miami, Coral Gables is a planned community that’s famed for its Mediterranean and Spanish architecture in a quaint suburban setting. This Florida city is beloved for its restaurants, shops, galleries, and parks. The beautiful campus of the University of Miami is also situated within Coral Gables. Coral Gables is famously home to the stunning Venetian Pool. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this 820,000-gallon spring-fed pool built in 1923 offers a relaxing swimming environment with grottos and waterfalls.
It’s no surprise that swimming is always on the minds of people who call Coral Gables home! Of course, swimming safety should always be on the mind whenever swimming is on the mind. This five-day program sets the stage for a lifetime of safe swimming! It is designed to be a consecutive, “intensive” experience that makes a big impression for new swimmers! Appropriate for little ones as soon as they can crawl, TKR establishes the basics. It also fulfils the important role of teaching children how to react if they ever fall into the water. Our TKR lesson is a private experience because our Coral Gables swim school strongly believes that a child’s first experience in the water should be a one-on-one experience. Our skilled instructors will use positive reinforcement and gentle techniques while introducing your new swimmer to the water!
After completing a private TKR lesson, a new swimmer will be ready to learn new skills, refine the skills they’ve learned, and begin to cultivate a positive, safety-first relationship with the water. Our TKR Review course is one of the most important Coral Gables swim classes because it moves beyond the basics. This “refresher” course builds on all of the skills established during TKR. Students will strengthen and improve their skills to feel even more comfortable in the water.
Intended for swimmers with a little bit of experience in the water, Level 1 instructs new swimmers in log rolling, floating, arm usages in the water, and diving for toys. At this point, swimmers are beginning to establish a confident, safety-first relationship with the water!
After completing Level 1, swimmers will be eager to begin Level 2 to build on the skills they’ve mastered. This course covers the breaststroke, rhythmic breathing for freestyle, and refinement of skills they learned in previous Coral Gables swim lessons.
Level 3 builds on the proficiency earned in Level 2 by introducing the side stroke, elementary backstroke, backstroke, treading water, and survival technique.
As part of our commitment to nurturing water safety at every age, Baby Otter Swim School is pleased to offer Coral Gables swim lessons for adults. This course is ideal for adults who never learned to swim. It can also be a great asset for adult swimmers who simply want to improve their skills. Many parents come to us for Coral Gables swim classes after realizing that their swimming skills are not where they need to be when it comes to keeping their own children safely monitored in the water.
